Environment for Metrics Evaluation (EME)

Designed specifically for the Metrics Research Team at Ball State University, EME provides an integrated environment for the analysis and evaluation of metrics. This program was designed to be general enough to be used by other engineers and researchers who have a need for metrics assessment.

There are seven major parts to EME:

retrofitting
designed to merge multiple sets of metrics into one set. For example, metrics may be collected from different sources and the need to combine these metrics into one set can be accomplished by retrofitting.
set analysis
evaluates queries on metrics.
timeslicing
tracks metric values over time and evaluates changes.
tools
user can add his/her favorite metrics collection tool. Our environment includes DMAA and DMAC.
calculator
integrated calculator which is specific to metrics evaluation. For example, the AVG button, calculates the average on a given metric for all the records.
reporting
similar in appearance to a spreadsheet, output can easily be moved and manipulated to create clear, informative reports.
graphing
bar charts, pie charts and line graphs.

Status: Prototype completed.
