| CONTEXT: The
context of this project is on the Civil War and how
soldiers worked together to protect each other. This was a problem during wars when soldiers were wounded and needed transportation off of the battle field. |

CHALLENGE: After listening to the story, Pink and Say, students will be given a set of materials to create a mode of transportation for a wounded soldier to be carried off of the field. The design must be able to carry a miniature figure, which represents a soldier. Each team will evaluate all of the models to decide which model works best. PROCEDURE:
EVALUATION: Each student will evaluate all of the models in the class to see which model would work best. The teacher will evaluate by the completion of the project and the effort displayed by the students.

The whole class will collaborate to see which model works the best and a life size model will be made. This will be a whole class design and displayed in the classroom. |
