                                                           Lunar Module Lesson
Objective: The students will be able to create their own lunar module, as well as, be able to label and describe the parts of the module.

The students will also be able to answer specific questions relating to their lunar module, after researching their personal lunar lander (see game chart).

Materials: K'NEX toys, game chart, question sheet, and diagram of lunar module, pencils, research books available.

Procedure:

  1. Students will be divided into groups of 3-4 to create a lunar module using K"NEX toys and the diagram sheet provided.
  2. They will then label each part and identify its function. Research books may be used.
  3. Students will then use the game chart provided to identify their personal lunar module.
  4. Individually they will do research on their module and answer the questions on the sheet provided.
  5. Present finished products to the class.
Evaluation: Observe the lunar modules created by the groups, as well as the research found. These will be presented to the class.

Grade level: 4-5
