What does webready Do?
To actually create your own homepage and set up the proper
environment so the whole WWW can read your page, takes many
steps. First, you must create the page (HTML file) and
store it the proper directory so the BSU WWW server can find it.
You must also set the correct protection on this file so someone else
can actually read it. We realize this may be overwhelming at first, so
BSU has created a program called WEBREADY. Webready does a few
things for you:
It creates a WWW subdirectory in your VAX account with the
proper protections so it can be seen by others.
It creates a template page called INDEX.HTML and stores this file
in the WWW subdirectory also with the proper protections. There
are four other files (GIF files) that will be put in this
subdirectory that are used in this INDEX page.
It mails you a message to your VAX account. This
letter has been slightly edited by me to include HTML tags and
hyperlinks.
