On Time? Within Budget? High Quality?

An Exploration of Software Cost and Effort Estimation Modeling

presented by

Dr. Wayne M. Zage

Software is often delivered late, over budget and/or with unacceptable defect rates. Practitioners use a variety of approaches to obtain early estimates of the effort and cost required to develop a proposed object, often with limited success. We will review some of the factors that are included in effort estimation models, and then present a demonstration of the COCOMO II software effort estimation tool available at Ball State.
